Specialty: Remote sensing applications.
Background: Jerry Whistler received a BA and MA in Geography at the University of Kansas. Jerry directed the development of the first statewide digital land use/land cover database of Kansas. He currently serves at the Survey's representative on the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Kansas GIS Policy Board. Jerry has been with the KARS Program since 1982.
Current research interests: Jerry's research focuses on digital land use/land cover inventory, phenology-based vegetation classification techniques, and the use of remote sensing data to model agricultural non-point source pollution.
